Sightseeing between Johannesberg & Centurion Test Matches

Monday 22 December – Sun City Resort
This morning we check out of your Sandton hotel and travel north-west to the world-famous Sun City Resort (aprroximately 3hrs), one of Africa’s premier leisure destinations.

On arrival, check in to the stylish Sun City Hotel, ideally located at the heart of the resort and within easy walking distance of its many attractions.

Sun City offers a wealth of activities and facilities to enjoy during your stay. Highlights include the famous Valley of Waves, with its golden sand beach and wave pool, beautifully landscaped gardens and walking paths, boutique shopping arcades, luxury spas, and the vibrant Sun City Casino.

Dining and nightlife are also a highlight, with numerous restaurants and bars across the resort offering everything from casual cafés and poolside grills to elegant dining venues serving international cuisine, fresh seafood and classic South African dishes.

The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore the resort or relax at the hotel.

Tuesday 23 December – Not Out Travel Golf Day

Following breakfast, we head to the spectacular Lost City Golf Course for the inaugural Not Out Travel Golf Day!

Designed by South African golfing legend Gary Player, this world-class championship course is widely regarded as one of the most scenic in South Africa. Set amongst dramatic volcanic hills and natural bushveld, the course features immaculate fairways, challenging bunkers and spectacular water hazards – including the famous crocodile-filled water feature at the 13th hole.

Enjoy a memorable round with fellow Not Out travellers, with green fees, golf cart hire and lunch at the clubhouse Hallway Restaurant included. (Club hire is not included, please contact us if you wish to add this)

After your round, return to the hotel and enjoy the rest of the afternoon and evening at leisure.

Guests not wishing to take part in the golf may instead spend the day enjoying Sun City’s many attractions, relaxing by the pool, visiting the Valley of Waves or exploring the resort’s restaurants, bars and entertainment venues. (Contact us and we will tailored the price accordingly)

Wednesday 24 December – Transfer to Centurion

After breakfast we check out of the hotel and travel to Centurion, where you will check in to your Test Match hotel and join the rest of the group for the next stage of your tour.

Enjoy an evening at leisure in Centurion on Christmas Eve!

Tuesday 22 December – Pilanesberg National Park
Lunch & Dinner Included
Following breakfast, we depart Sandton and travel to the spectacular Pilanesberg National Park (approximately 3hrs), a malaria-free wildlife reserve set within the crater of an ancient volcano and renowned for excellent Big Five game viewing.

Our base for the next three nights will be the welcoming Bakubung Bush Lodge, a popular safari lodge located within the park itself. Surrounded by bushveld and overlooking a waterhole frequently visited by wildlife, the lodge offers comfortable en-suite rooms with private patios, a large outdoor swimming pool, spa facilities, a fitness centre and a viewing deck where guests can relax while watching animals come to drink.

Upon arrival we enjoy lunch before settling into our rooms.

Later this afternoon, we head out on our first open-vehicle game drive accompanied by expert rangers. Pilanesberg is home to the famous Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhinoceros – along with giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, antelope and an abundance of birdlife.

Dinner is served at the lodge this evening.

Wednesday 23 December
Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included
An early start this morning for a sunrise game drive, one of the best times of day for wildlife viewing as the bush awakens and predators complete their night-time hunts.

Returning to the lodge, enjoy breakfast before a morning at leisure. Relax beside the swimming pool, enjoy views over the waterhole from the lodge’s viewing areas, or unwind with a treatment at the lodge spa. Guests may also take advantage of the lodge’s fitness centre, tennis court or curio shop.

Lunch is served at the lodge before we head out again for an afternoon game drive, when wildlife often gathers at waterholes as the temperatures cool.

Dinner will be served at the lodge restaurant this evening, where guests can enjoy a selection of South African and international dishes, often including grilled meats, fresh seasonal produce and traditional local flavours.

Thursday 24 December
Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included
Today follows the classic safari rhythm, with morning and afternoon game drives offering further opportunities to encounter the remarkable wildlife of Pilanesberg.

During your drives you may see herds of elephants crossing the plains, giraffes browsing on acacia trees, zebras and wildebeest grazing in open grasslands, and perhaps even elusive predators such as lion or leopard. The park is also home to more than 300 bird species, making it a rewarding destination for birdwatchers.

Between activities, enjoy time to relax at the lodge, perhaps watching wildlife at the nearby waterhole or enjoying the lodge’s facilities.

Dinner will once again be served at the lodge.

Friday 25 December – Return to Centurion
Breakfast Included
Have a really special Christmas morning with a final early morning game drive, offering one last opportunity to experience the sights and sounds of the African bush.

After breakfast, we check out of the lodge and transfer directly to Not Out Travel’s Christmas Social for lunch. Following the event, you will be transferred to your hotel in Centurion, where you will rejoin the main Test Match tour itinerary.
