Friday 8 January – Arrival in Victoria Falls
This morning you will check out of your Cape Town hotel and transfer to the airport for your flight to Victoria Falls International Airport, gateway to one of Africa’s most iconic natural wonders.

Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the renowned Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, beautifully positioned on a plateau overlooking the Zambezi National Park. The lodge is famous for its panoramic views across open bushveld and a bustling wildlife waterhole that regularly attracts elephants, buffalo and antelope throughout the day.

After time to settle into your room, the adventure begins with a magical sunset cruise on the Zambezi River.

As the African sun dips below the horizon, enjoy drinks and light snacks while drifting along one of the continent’s great rivers. Wildlife sightings are frequent and may include hippos, crocodiles and elephants along the riverbanks, while birdlife such as African fish eagles adds to the atmosphere.

Return to the lodge where the remainder of the evening is at leisure. Guests may wish to dine at the lodge’s excellent restaurant, where the terrace offers stunning views over the illuminated waterhole.

Saturday 9 January
Breakfast included
After breakfast overlooking the lodge’s wildlife waterhole, depart for a guided walking tour of Victoria Falls, one of the most extraordinary natural spectacles on earth.

Known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya, “The Smoke That Thunders”, the falls span more than 1.7 kilometres across the Zambezi River, plunging dramatically into the Batoka Gorge below.

Accompanied by an expert guide, explore the rainforest pathways that wind along the edge of the falls, stopping at the most spectacular viewpoints including Devil’s Cataract, Main Falls and Rainbow Falls. The constant spray sustains a lush ecosystem of tropical vegetation, while the sound of thundering water echoes through the gorge.

Following the tour, return to Victoria Falls Safari Lodge where the remainder of the day is at leisure to relax beside the lodge’s swimming pool overlooking the bush, watch wildlife gather at the lodge’s natural waterhole or visit the nearby Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust, dedicated to conservation and rehabilitation.

Alternatively, Victoria Falls offers a wide range of optional activities including helicopter flights over the falls, white-water rafting in the Batoka Gorge, scenic microlight flights and lively local craft markets.

Sunday 10 January – Victoria Falls to Chobe National Park
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included
Following breakfast, check out and journey across the Botswana border to Chobe National Park (approximately 3hrs).

Your destination is the riverfront Chobe Safari Lodge, perfectly positioned on the banks of the Chobe River where four countries meet: Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

After check-in, enjoy lunch at the lodge before heading out on your first safari experience.

This afternoon you will explore the Chobe River by boat, one of Africa’s most rewarding wildlife viewing experiences.

Chobe is famous for its vast elephant population, and it is not uncommon to witness large herds crossing the river between islands. From the comfort of your boat, you may also encounter hippos, crocodiles, buffalo and a wide variety of birdlife along the lush riverbanks.

Return to the lodge in the early evening for dinner overlooking the river.

Monday 11 January
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included
Today is dedicated to discovering the extraordinary wildlife of Chobe National Park, one of Africa’s premier safari destinations.

Following breakfast, depart on a morning boat safari along the Chobe River. Early mornings often provide exceptional sightings as wildlife gathers along the water’s edge to drink and feed.

Return to the lodge for lunch and time to relax before heading out again later in the afternoon.

In the late afternoon you will venture into the park in an open 4×4 safari vehicle. Chobe’s varied habitats support a remarkable diversity of wildlife including elephants, lions, buffalo, giraffe and numerous antelope species.

Your experienced safari guide will track wildlife and share insights into animal behaviour, ecology and conservation in this remarkable wilderness.

Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and a relaxing night under the African stars.

Tuesday 12 January – Back to Victoria Falls

Rise early this morning for your final safari game drive in Chobe National Park, when predators are often still active and the bush is alive with early morning wildlife.

After the drive, return to the lodge for breakfast before checking out and transferring back to Victoria Falls Safari Lodge for your final night in Zimbabwe.

The afternoon is at leisure, the perfect opportunity to relax by the pool, revisit Victoria Falls town, or simply enjoy the spectacular views across the surrounding bushveld.

This evening you will attend the famous ‘The Boma – Dinner & Drum Show’, an unforgettable celebration of Zimbabwean culture and cuisine.

Set within a traditional open-air enclosure, the evening includes a feast of African specialities, vibrant traditional dancing, interactive drumming and lively entertainment which will be a fitting finale to your African adventure.

Friday 8 January – Arrival in Kruger

This morning you will check out of your Cape Town hotel and transfer to the airport for your flight to the Kruger region.

Upon arrival you will be transferred to the beautifully located Kruger Gate Hotel, situated just moments from the Paul Kruger Gate entrance to the national park. Set beneath towering trees on the banks of the Sabie River, the lodge offers a relaxed safari atmosphere with wildlife often visible directly from the viewing decks.

As evening falls, head to the lodge’s restaurant for dinner, where guests dine under the African sky while listening to the sounds of the bush.

Saturday 9 January
Breakfast and Dinner included
Rise early this morning for your first game drive in Kruger National Park, departing before breakfast when wildlife activity is often at its peak.

Travelling in an open safari vehicle with an experienced guide, explore the vast wilderness of Kruger as the sun rises over the savannah. Early mornings offer excellent opportunities to spot predators returning from the night hunt, as well as elephants, giraffe, zebra and a variety of antelope.

Return to the lodge for a well-deserved breakfast and morning at leisure.

The remainder of the morning is free to relax and enjoy the lodge facilities, why not relax by the pool overlooking the Sabie River or visit the Kruger Gate viewing area, where elephants are often seen crossing the river.

Later in the afternoon, head out on another game drive into Kruger National Park. The cooler temperatures bring renewed wildlife activity and the golden evening light provides exceptional photography opportunities.

Return to the lodge after sunset for dinner.

Sunday 10 January
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included
Following breakfast, today’s adventure takes you deeper into the heart of Kruger National Park on a full-day safari experience.

Travelling through varied landscapes including riverine forests, open plains and dense bushveld, your guide will search for the park’s famous wildlife, including the Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhinoceros.

Midway through the day, stop for lunch at Cattle Baron Skukuza, located within the park’s largest rest camp on the banks of the Sabie River.

After lunch, continue your exploration through the park before returning to the lodge in the late afternoon.

Dinner is served back at the hotel, where you can share stories from the day’s sightings.

Monday 11 January
Breakfast and Dinner included
Another early start offers a further opportunity to explore this extraordinary wilderness.

Depart before breakfast for a sunrise game drive, when the bush is alive with activity and predators may still be on the move.

Your expert ranger will guide you through different areas of the park, interpreting animal behaviour and pointing out the remarkable diversity of birdlife and smaller species often overlooked.

Return to the lodge for breakfast and enjoy a relaxed morning at leisure.

In the late afternoon, set out once again for a final afternoon safari drive, scanning the bushveld for wildlife as the sun begins to set over the African plains.

Return to the lodge for dinner and a final evening immersed in the sounds of the bush.

Tuesday 12 January – Transfer to Johannesburg
Breakfast included
Rise early this morning for your final safari game drive in Kruger National Park, offering one last opportunity to encounter the incredible wildlife that makes this reserve so special.

After the drive, return to the lodge for breakfast before checking out.

You will then be transferred to the airport for your short flight to Johannesburg.

Upon arrival, transfer to Garden Court Sandton City, conveniently located beside the renowned Sandton City shopping and dining district.

The evening is at leisure. Guests may wish to explore the nearby restaurants, cafés and shops, or visit lively Nelson Mandela Square, a popular dining and entertainment hub.

Wednesday 13 January

Friday 8 January – Cape Town – Hermanus
This morning you will be collected from your Cape Town hotel and begin your scenic journey along the Cape Whale Coast to Hermanus, one of South Africa’s most beautiful seaside towns.

The drive takes approximately 1 hour 45 minutes (120 km) and follows a spectacular coastal route overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the dramatic cliffs of Walker Bay.

Upon arrival, check into the Misty Waves Boutique Hotel.

Hermanus is world-famous for its land-based whale watching. Although slightly outside whale season, the town offers spectacular ocean scenery and a relaxed coastal atmosphere.

The afternoon and evening are at leisure. You may wish to walk the famous Hermanus Cliff Path overlooking Walker Bay, or explore the town’s boutiques, galleries and cafés or head one of the waterfront restaurants for some fresh seafood.

Saturday 9 January – Hermanus – Oudtshoorn

After breakfast, check out and depart Hermanus for the journey inland to Oudtshoorn, the ostrich capital of the world.

The transfer takes approximately 4.5 hours (350 km), travelling through changing landscapes from coastal fynbos to the semi-arid plains of the Klein Karoo.

On arrival, check in at the historic Queen’s Hotel, one of the oldest and most charming hotels in the region. Dating back to 1880, the hotel combines classic Victorian architecture with modern comforts and a warm Karoo welcome.

The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore Oudtshoorn, known for its rich history and unique ostrich farming heritage.

Sunday 10 January – Oudtshoorn – Knysna

Following breakfast, check out and begin the day with a visit to Safari Ostrich Farm, one of the region’s most popular attractions.

During the guided tour you will learn about the fascinating history of ostrich farming in the Klein Karoo, see the world’s largest birds up close, and discover how ostrich feathers, leather and eggs have shaped the region’s economy for over a century.

A traditional lunch will be served before continuing your journey towards the coast.

The transfer to Knysna takes approximately 2 hours (120 km), travelling over the spectacular Outeniqua Pass before descending towards the lush forests and lagoons of the Garden Route.

Upon arrival, check into Protea Hotel Knysna Quays, ideally located on the vibrant Knysna Waterfront.

The afternoon is free to explore the marina area, where you’ll find a variety of restaurants, cafés and boutique shops overlooking the lagoon.

Monday 11 January

After breakfast, depart for a morning excursion to the spectacular Featherbed Nature Reserve, located on the Western Head of the Knysna Lagoon.

The experience begins with a scenic ferry crossing across the Knysna Lagoon, offering beautiful views of the famous Knysna Heads.

Once ashore, board a specialised 4×4 vehicle and trailer for a guided journey through the reserve to the top of the headland.

From the summit you will enjoy spectacular panoramic views across the lagoon, Indian Ocean and surrounding forests. The excursion includes a short guided walk through coastal forest and fynbos, where your guide will explain the unique ecology of the reserve.

Return to Knysna around lunchtime.

The remainder of the afternoon is at leisure to do as you please, but we would suggest a boat cruise on the Knysna Lagoon, or simply wander around the Knysna waterfront and local markets.

Tuesday 12 January – Knysna to Port Elizabeth

Following breakfast, check out and continue your journey east along the Garden Route towards Port Elizabeth, recently renamed Gqeberha.

The transfer takes approximately 3.5 hours (280 km), travelling through coastal forests, dramatic shoreline scenery and charming Garden Route towns.

Upon arrival, check into The Beach Hotel, perfectly positioned overlooking the golden sands of Hobie Beach.

The afternoon and evening are at leisure. Why not enjoy a walk along the lively beachfront promenade or dine at one of the hotel’s restaurants with views across the Indian Ocean.

Around the Test Match, Cape Town is extremely busy – this is the perfect opportunity to take in this wonderful city at a more relaxed pace. With free days at leisure you can explore at your own pace, whether spending a few days on the beach or taking in some of the world-class sightseeing. A ticket and return transfer to the 1st South Africa vs England ODI in Paarl is included in the package, but can be removed if requested.

Friday 8th January
No need to check out of your Test Match hotel, as this will be your home for the next five days on a B&B basis! A Tour Manager will be on hand throughout your time to assist if needed.

The days are your own, we suggest riding the cableway up Table Mountain for breathtaking views, relax on the white sands of Camps Bay Beach, explore shops and restaurants at the V&A Waterfront, visit the historic Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned, and take a scenic drive to dramatic cliffs and wildlife at Cape Point.

Sunday 10th January
Inlcuded in the price of the extension is a ticket and return transfer to the 1st England vs South Africa ODI in Paarl.
